Join Michael D. Singer of Cohelan Khoury & Singer for this excellent discussion on the basics of class action practice. The course begins with an overview of class actions, and then includes a review of employment suits, FRCP Rule 23, questions of common interest, ascertainability, numerosity, commonality, and notice. Mr. Singer also addresses hot claims areas such as meal and rest periods, failure to reimburse expenses, and overtime misclassification cases. This course is primarily intended for new lawyers who want to learn about class actions, experienced litigators who do not regularly handle class action suits, and in-house counsel who manage outside counsel handling class actions for the company.
Mr. Singer is a CLE lecturer on class action procedure and wage and hour issues, including commercial seminars in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles and presentations before the San Diego and Orange County Bar Associations. He has participated in over 50 appellate cases and argued writs and appeals before several California District Courts of Appeal, as well as federal appeals in the Second, Third, and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
